We Love a Retreat!

The NWA Modern Quilt Guild hosts retreats every fall—and sometimes we sneak in a bonus spring retreat too! It’s truly one of the highlights of our year. Just look at all the fun we have!

We load up our sewing machines, cutting mats, rulers, irons, and way too many projects, and head west to Camp Egan—just across the state line near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. It’s a dream: no cooking, no cleaning, no kids, pets, or partners interrupting us. Just uninterrupted sewing time to your heart’s content!

The rooms are cozy and flexible — you can have one all to yourself or share with 1, 2, or 3 friends. There’s often an optional class if you’re in the mood to start something new and learn a skill. But if you’ve got a stack of UFOs, no pressure — bring them along and stitch away.

We usually toss in a game or two, lots of laughter, and plenty of time to connect and recharge with fellow quilters. It’s truly SO MUCH FUN!

• Location: Camp Egan, Tahlequah, OK
• Cost: $85–$325 per person
  *Cost depends on room occupancy and whether you choose to have food provided or bring your own.*
